Remember that game you used to play when you were a kid called Follow the Leader?
Well, a few years ago, I took my Sunday school class outside to play that game. Round and round the parking lot we went, hands on each others’ shoulders, as I had the kids to follow me.
Follow me. Yep, you read that right. I told the kids to follow a blind person.
The Bible says that if the blind follow the blind, both will fall into the ditch. That’s in Matthew 15 and Luke 6, BTW, and it is Jesus who says it.
Why would you follow a blind person? Why would you follow anybody, for that matter?
Maybe, you like adventure, and you want to see where they will lead you. Maybe, you are bored and want something new to do. Or, just maybe, you see something in that person that makes you want to know more about them. How do they cope? What do they do when all seems lost? What can you learn from them?
Why would you want to follow me on social media, if you don’t know anything about me?
This was running through my head this morning, so I recorded a video and posted it on Youtube.
Here is the video.
In all seriousness, though, I’m terrified that anyone would want to follow me, whether it be physically or spiritually. I’m prone to mistakes. I mess up a whole lot. But, there is one thing I am certain of and that is Jesus is worth following. He is who I follow. So, if you follow me anywhere, my prayer is that you look over my head and follow Him.
Blessings, and have a great weekend.
