I dreamed last night that I was comforting a woman who is dying. I didn’t know her or her fiance, but his tears broke my heart. I held the woman and rocked her and wished I had something to say to lead them to comfort and salvation in Jesus Christ.
In my spirit, the Lord said, “You need to memorize 1 Thessalonians 5:17.”
I felt that I should know that verse, but in my dream, I did not. I woke up thinking, I have to look up that verse.
You know what it says?
“Pray without ceasing.” That’s it. It’s only 3 simple words, but wow, it packs a punch.
Recently, someone on one of my social media sites announced they were getting married and asked if anyone had any advice. I replied with “pray.” After 19 years of marriage to the same man, that’s not just my best advice, it’s my only advice. Pray.
The school year is coming at me so fast, I want to jump off the tracks before it crashes into me and crushes me beneath it’s iron weight. This year I will have a 9th grader and a 6th grader, and for the first time during our crazy homeschool journey, I wrote out a plan for the year. I’m scared to death that will come back to bite me. The answer for it all is prayer.
I want to give a quick shoutout to Stephanie Parker McKean for the reference to trains. I read her blog post this morning and enjoyed it. Go check it out here.
As for my writing, I’m currently working on 2 different stories. Which one should I concentrate on? Which one will grab the readers? Time and prayer will tell. And, probably the stress of upcoming math class will send me to both of them. Dividing with decimals brings out the stories, and something tells me, I’ll be surprised at what I’ll have written come Spring.
Speaking of the coming months, I have had an offer from an actor to narrate my book, “You Belong to Me” for audio. It’s difficult for me to have patience, because I really want this to work out. But, patience is what is required of me. I promise to give more details when I have them, but here’s praying that my Christian romance story will be available as an audiobook.
Oh, and I almost forgot, there is a possibility that “You Belong to Me” will have a chance at appearing on Barnes & Noble’s book shelves. There is some paperwork to fill out, and then another period of waiting before we know for certain. Patience again. Thankful for prayer.
In closing, let me share with you some of the verses I read this morning in 1Thessalonians chapter 5 from the King James Version of the Bible.
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
