Autumn Update

Is there anything more precious than listening to your children sleep? Even breaths, quiet snores, long moans. They are growing up on me, and I’m wishing I could slam on the brakes.

Yesterday, I had to sit out in the waiting room while my 12 year old got a root canal. When she texted to say she only cried a little when they put the numbing medicine in, my heart hurt.

Being a mom is the most difficult thing I’ve ever done. How do I know when I’ve got it just right? A hug or kiss from me doesn’t fix things as easy as before. Prayer and busy hands seem to help . . . a little.

While out and about yesterday, I dropped a few of my books off at Conley’s Hair Styling In Rand, WV. If you are in the area and need to get your hair did, go check them out and catch a glimpse of my books up close and personal. 🙂 They will even let you purchase one or all of them. 😉

Speaking of books, I’ve been writing up a storm. I’m working on 2 stories. When I get stuck on the one, I’ll switch screens and write on the other a while. Then, when words fail me there, I go back to the first one. I’m feeling stressed right now, and this craziness seems to help. I hope to publish next year, so be on the look-out.

To wet your appetite, I’m pasting the first line of each of them below.

Story 1:

Wyoming, 1898

“You promise you’ll do it, no matter what it is?”

Story 2:

Averie, 1993

“Mamaw, when you were my age, did you know what you wanted to do with the rest of your life?”

Curious yet? I sure hope so.

As for reading, I’ve been doing some of that, too. I finished “The Price of Valor” by Susan May Warren, and I’m currently reading, “The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek” by Kim Michele Richardson. I recommend them both.

As for what I’ve been doing in my free time . . . Wait, did I say free time? LOL Yeah, somewhere between writing, homeschooling, dentist visits and church, I’ve found some me time. And, with it, I have been knitting and crocheting. The blanket I’m attempting to crochet is a difficult one, which suits my mood just now. I’ll paste the link to the blog, in case you’re interested. It’s a crochet-a-long, and so far, I’m making slow progress.

Story 1 mentioned above is a Christmas story, so maybe this holiday blanket will be a giveaway to go with the book. But, that all depends on if I can make it or not. LOL

Blessings to you all, dear readers. I hope this autumn finds you healthy and looking forward to the holidays. Times are stressful, but Jesus can calm those storms. God created the full moon, and He isn’t afraid of halloween. He is outside time, so 2020 doesn’t worry Him, either. Hurricanes, fires, ice and snow, time change, sickness, it’s all under His feet. Amen and amen!
